Comment: This module refers to the Three Elements of Fire being; fuel, air and ignition. Technically, it is the Oxygen in the air that burns, not air. Nitrogen makes up for over 70% of our "air", but a room full of Nitrogen alone will not support a flame. The term ignition should also be changed for heat. After doing more research, the three elements of fire are always referred to as oxygen, fuel and heat, and in he description for heat, ignition is mentioned. In the Objective Two Activity, page 19, question 2, they ask what the 3 elements of fire are. The answer key on page 60 says, d) air, fuel and ignition is the correct answer, but I would argue b) oxygen, fuel and heat should be the correct answer.

Comment: Figure 57. This picture shows two micrometers, one without a vernier scale and one with. In the second half of the pic on the vernier micrometer the thimble is not showing the same measurement. Notice the index line. That second half of that pic or vernier micrometer needs to show the proper measurement in addition to the Vernier lines lining up.

Comment: Objective 5 exercise 3 answer key has conflicting information. The answer on page 39 for #3 o) mentions 10 threads, but could be interpreted as 8 threads if using a key that is 3/8" from the note on the drawing. Please remove the note in the question stating the key is 1/4 the size of the shaft, which is 1 inch as it creates confusion. The answer should be 8 threads not 10. For 8 threads: The depth of the threaded hole is 0.55". The note at the bottom of fig 35 mentions the keyway is 3/8". Assuming half the key sits in the shaft and the other half sits in the keyway, we can say the depth of the keyway is half of 3/8" which is 0.1875". The question says there is a 2 thou clearance. The thread has a pitch of 0.0416". Solution 0.55 - 0.1875 - 0.002= 0.3605 ÷ 0.0416 = 8.67 threads.

Comment: Self test question 14. The correct answer is not available as an option. The correct answer is move 12 toward the datum. If the face reads zero at 3:00 and 9:00 positions, it would make the first part of the formula become zero. S1=L1 / D × tirF - tirR/2 becomes S1= 0- tirR/2 which means the answer for S1 or S2 is +12 mil. According to page 23 - we move positive answers toward the datum (Zero) which means the answer is 12 mil to 3:00. A possible solution or fix could be to change option c) to read: move 12 mils toward the datum line.
